Training time - SAP BTP & Open Source
September 2024
This month, besides maintenance tasks, I've started to learn more about SAP's Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP). After a brief intro into CAP, I'm now looking into the cloud platform as a whole and what benefits it offers for future SAP projects.
I also started to contribute to the foodsharing project during my free time. Their codebase is Open Source on Gitlab and the project is a great idea to help and stop food waste.
Mission Accomplished: VR-tour in the NAZHA
August 2024
Our colleagues at HARTING, Cpro and myself have been working hard to develop a virtual reality tour through the NAZHA, HARTING's education central in Espelkamp. The tour is expected to launch in September 2024 and promises to show the heart-piece of Harting's educational experience.
During the project, I've learned a lot about HARTING's educational process and was blown away by the compassion and excellence of their staff. Not only does HARTING offer a great education training, they also support playful expliration of scientific methods for children through KiTec.
I'm sure many people will enjoy walking through the tour and learn more about 'Ausbildung bei HARTING'.
Mission accepted - AR training simulation
July 2024
My colleagues have been working hard to get the process for a new training method at one of our customers straight. This month, I've been tasked to start with the development of a new training simulation. In it, trainees are tasked to switch a membran of a gas pressure system. Due to the excellent preparation from my colleague's side, I can expect to finish this project fairly quickly.
Coaching our customers - Vuforia Studio
June 2024
We (as Cpro IoT) work heavily with the tools and software of PTC. Today, I'll start to coach one of our customers to work with Vuforia Studio. I've been coaching on Typescript and JS frameworks before, but this is a first.
Update August 2024: Mission accomplished
Our customer is now well equipped with their augmented reality experience and ready for the SMM in Hamburg City. Pay them a visit in Hall A4, Stand 211 and see their latest innovation on the maritime market!
We're already planning ahead for many new projects together to integrate AR-apps deeply into their core business.
New functionalities for ERP-Connector
May 2024
I've started to upgrade our ERP-Connector to also use AI-powered capabilities. For now, Azure's platform will help us, as well as our customers, to understand the data flow of their systems.
Each time our Connector receives new data from a source system, a snapshot is logged. With the new AI feature, we can now compare two or many snapshots and give non-developers an idea of how their data changed, what systems were involved, and much more.
Mission accepted & accomplished - New Interface for an ERP Connector solution
April 2024
One of our recent customers started to import data from a new subsystem into their ERP system. Together, we've laid out the blueprints for this interface and started implementing.
By the end of the project, two of their plants will be able to independently import data from their respective subsystems straight into master data records of their ERP. Not only will this save a lot of time, we also expect master data quanlity to improve on the long run due to each plant being able to import harmonized data in a simple manner.
Promotion to solution architect
March 2024
I've been promoted to Solution Architect at Cpro IoT after two years. Yes, I'm still doing the same stuff as before. No, I'm (hopefully) not going to start writing lots of Jira tickets for my colleagues now. You can however expect me to do more direct work with customers.
Learning Azure
February 2024
I've started learning more about the Azure platform. Out of personal interest, out of the question. But also to help our current and future customers to take the leap into the cloud.
Azure offers plenty of features, from App Service to Virtual Machines. Their AI platform seems top-notch (you'll see more of that soon as part of Cpro products) and the integration into Sharepoint or MS365 environments is great.
Two of my colleagues accompany me on the learning journey towards the AZ-104 certification, which we aim to take some time during the next year. I also plan to write the one or another blog post about topics, such as data redundancy and high availability.
